What’s summer in South Florida: Heat and humidity reign supreme, kids are off to camp, lizards are melting to the sidewalk (really, I’ve seen it happen), and the Mthree crew is as busy as ever.

Earlier this year, the Mthree team was commissioned to produce a driving safety video by champion racecar driver Andy Pilgrim to produce his foundation’s latest safe driving video – “The Driving Zone 2” (www.andypilgrimfoundation.org/foundation/)

“The first Driving Zone DVD was produced in 2004 and is still being used by thousands of new drivers. The original DVD is also being used officially by Broward County school district in Florida, the Illinois States attorney office and numerous high schools in at least 10 states. The Foundation gave away over 40,000 copies of the original DVD.

The new DVD, The Driving Zone 2, is focused to deal with the massive increase in distracted driving since the release of the first DVD in 2004. Based on the success of the first DVD, Andy is certain the new DVD will be a great tool for new drivers, teachers and parents.”

To bring Andy’s vision to life the Mthree team began pre-production in the spring, writing scripts, planning shot lists, and scouting field locations. Kelly Voice was charged with managing a talent search for young South Florida actors ending with a two day casting call, held in our production studio. With the planning and preparation finalized the first shoots began in early summer. Producer/director, Paul Steiner and the video team went to work with externally mounted HD car cameras.

While the video team was out in the field, Eddy Meilan and the production staff were finalizing the build of a 30’ x 50’ set in our Boca Raton facility. A 4 camera shoot with lighting, HD plasmas, Teleprompters, live audio recording, staging, trussing, faux road surface, two mid-sized vehicles and a plethora of talented young actors. The studio shoot spanned 4 days and director Eddie Mady worked closely with DP Peter Facciola to capture the vision of the production.

With the studio shoot wrapped, videographer Adam Taylor and team completed field-work in late July. The final element was capturing a mock accident scene on the streets of Boynton Beach Florida. With the gracious assistance of Palm Beach County’s Film and Television Commission (www.pbfilm.com) and the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, Mthree was able to provide a safe and secure scene. With the mock accident scene safely in the can, Post-Production work began under the supervision of Editor Chris Tilson.

Mthree was featured in Palm Beach County’s Film and Television Commission’s latest newsletter (www.pbfilm.com/files/newsletter/148_August_10.pdf).

Mthree’s ultimate task was to capture Andy’s passion and knowledge, improve upon and enhance every aspect of the original Driving Zone video. The entire Mthree team feels great pride in having a hand in such an important educational video.

Lara, the guest of honor, already had plans to strut her stuff with a dance set on stage arranged and choreographed by M Three’s talented entertainment team. After MC Sugarbone proposed to Lara’s parents the idea of having a special appearance by Flo Rida, our team went to work and the ever invaluable resource, Kelly Voice, was able to contact Flo Rida’s camp and secure his appearance.

After Lara’s performance Sugarbone made the surprise announcement that Flo Rida was in the building. Over 100 screaming guests rushed the stage and enjoyed a multi-song set by the upcoming artist. At the conclusion of the performance Flo Rida humbly took time for a meet and greet with autographs and photos. What can M Three do to make your next event spectacular?

Atlanta, GA – March 3-5, 2008

Few things are as fun, interesting and challenging as developing and producing an event that encompasses 500 global attendees, a bevy of high powered executives, 20 PowerPoint’s requiring custom creative work, 2 custom videos, 3000 square feet of rubber track and the 5 sprinters to run on that track, lighting design, stage set design, custom graphics, and the finer points of human space requirements.

Just three months ago, Delta Air Lines began to put the pieces together that would culminate less than ninety days later with their Global Sales and Distribution Conference. But, there were some unique challenges at hand: first, there had to be an appeal to a global audience; second, the messaging had to connect; and last, the turn around time was less than half of what would normally be required to pull off the event. So, Delta sought to work with a group that was familiar with both Delta’s culture and the challenges that this project presented.

By the time M Three became involved with the project, the timetable had shrunk to just five weeks. Within 35 days time, M Three was able to create a cohesive high level production solution that implemented the core messaging, and coordinate every element of the production.

At The Starting Line

With an understanding of the target audience and the intended messaging, we landed on the theme: “The Great Race To Success.” The concept behind the theme appealed to the competitive nature that is so common among sales people. And the messaging behind the theme was perfect for Delta’s situation: “regardless of the surrounding elements, our focus needs to remain on our own performance in an effort to ensure our own success.”

Hitting The Ground Running

With a theme in place, M Three was responsible for developing almost every aspect of the look, feel and experience the event would offer. In record time, our in-house graphics team created banners and supporting materials with motivational look and messaging. As the days flew by, staff worked day and night to develop and implement a widescreen stage set that would stress the importance of the event as well as engage the audience.

The Race Begins

M Three’s central theme was implemented in a variety of ways. The first unique production item was an actual track and field rubberized track that we laid down around the perimeter of the room. This really drove the point home that Delta was in a race, certainly with external forces that would constantly be a challenge. As the crowd entered the “stadium,” runners were warming up on the track. With commentators on site, the crowd was quickly engaged with the happenings and eagerly anticipated what came next. The four competitors were at the starting blocks: in lane number 1, the hometown favorite – Delta Air Lines; in lane 2 – “the economy”; in lane 3 – “fuel prices”; and in lane 4 – “other airlines.” After some drama along the way, Delta Air Lines was the first across the finish line, and the crowd erupted in celebration.

The theme also allowed for a motivational video that had a dual message. It highlighted the great accomplishments of 2007, but it also helped to inspire the participants to continue striving for the goals and performing to win for themselves and the company.

A central topic for Delta was to motivate and inspire the sales staff. But how do you reach a global audience. M Three decided to borrow the messaging from a simple African proverb. The proverb about the motivations of The Lion and The Gazelle was an inspiring and certainly universally understood message.

“Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning a lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve to death. It doesn’t matter whether you are a lion or a gazelle; when the sun comes up, you’d better be running.”

Between the presentations, M Three made sure there were some “racing” related activities that continually drove home the messaging of the conference. Not to mention, it’s always funny to see grown men riding tiny bikes!

One of the highlights of the day was a fun run that was led by 1972 Olympic runner, Jeff Galloway, through Delta’s headquarter city of Atlanta, GA.

The evening was topped off with a party at one of Atlanta’s hottest spots, Opera. With entertainment provided by M Three, the party became another one of the high points of the conference. With DJ Swift spinning the international hits and our very own Emcee Galaxy hypin’ the crowd, the venue had to finally kick us all out so they could call it a night – but it was a night that none of us will soon forget.

Knowing that the work never ends, M Three editors began the overnight task of developing the recap video. As day three began, and blurry-eyed editors put the finishing touches on a crowd-pleasing recap, the meeting resumed. One of the nicest touches was interjecting a little fun and games into the proceedings, and such a moment was when 500 people got to toss written suggestions on paper airplanes at our two unsuspecting commentators.

As the end of the meeting day neared, the video rolled. Certainly there are things worth losing sleep over and the reaction of the crowd certainly made all of the efforts appreciated.

The three day conference went just as quickly as it came; and the goals that were set, were accomplished.

So, The Great Race To Success was just that.

September 2007 – January 2008

M Three was proud to be a part of Delta’s Velvet Live Tour. A multi-city production that helped set the stage for the continuing success of the “new” Delta. Velvet Live was a 22 date tour that showcased in five different markets around Delta’s domestic system. This project was a follow up to the cultural transformation meetings, known as the Velvet Rope Tour, which premiered in Atlanta in February of 2006. Velvet Live, while sharing some similarities with its predecessor, took on a life of its own in several regards.

Initially, this was the first program of its kind to go on the road for Delta Air Lines. Additionally, the in-flight division of the global enterprise held the exclusive rights to Velvet Live. Seen as the front line efforts for the Delta family, the in-flight team is regarded as priority number one for new information and new direction. As such, Delta executives and chief officers took time to personally address the attendees with information that covered international expansion, product development, and merger talks. In addition to hearing from the corporate leadership, the in-flight team members heard from their own divisional leaders; from Vice-Presidents to Directors and General Managers, the information and interaction was crucial as it reinforced the same message that had been delivered for the past two years. All in all, Delta’s investment into this program yielded a high rate of return as they continue down the road to regaining the number one position in customer service and preference.

M Three had the opportunity to produce the Velvet Live project for Delta Air Lines. Our responsibilities included everything from logistics to project management to presentation development to the actual on-site production (stage set, video production, lighting and audio). The challenges were many, but the solutions conquered all. The biggest challenge of all was the time-frame in which we were able to make it all happen. Due to the internal process of big business, it was less than three weeks between the time we got the green light and the day of the first event. With our countless resources, we were able to design and produce a stage set that would normally take twice the amount of time that we had. With our numerous years of experience, we produced all facets of the program with precision. Our people truly executed in tremendous fashion and received nothing but the highest of accolades from the Delta team.

M Three Productions entertainers and performers encourage the crowd to get up and dance. Getting that many people to follow along is no easy task. M Three Productions Master of Ceremonies: MC Galaxy is in charge of making sure that everyone is up and dancing. “I’m always amazed” he said “at looking out at this crowd of thousands jumping and dancing and following everything we’re doing up on stage. It’s just a great feeling for us too.”
